Blueprint Editing offers proofreading, copy-editing, copy-writing and manuscript reading services.
I set up Blueprint Editing when I left the BBC in 2011, after having worked there for 11 years.
My recent projects include editing a very funny chick-lit novel, editing a travelogue, writing a route guide for Scottish Walks magazine (something I’d like to do more of in future) and contributing woodland visit descriptions posts to the charity VisitWoods. I have also had four short comedy monologues shortlisted by BBC Radio Scotland for possible broadcast in 2013. I was chuffed to have this short story chosen to be read at the Ayrshire New Writers’ Showcase during Book Week Scotland.
At the BBC my role included copy-editing, fact-checking, researching and proofreading. I also created feature pages and contributed to the BBC Learning Parents’ blog. Since leaving I have consolidated my experience through further training. I am an associate of SfEP (the Society for Editors and Proofreaders) and a member of the Ayr Writers’ Club.
I am currently offering a reduced rate to unpublished writers who are looking for agents or publishers and want to ensure their work has been professionally checked before submission.
